It's Official: ENSIFERUM Is A Star!

March 28, 2007

Now it is official: ENSIFERUM is a star.

The Russian ENSIFERUM fan club has given the band a gift of astronomical proportions, as on their request the Russian International Star Catalogue Space Earth has denominated a star in the Ursa Major constellation after the Finnish metal band.

The star is located in:

Magnitude 15.3
Ascension [RA] 16 00 19.14
Declination [Dec] +66 52 06.1

It was denominated ENSIFERUM on March 19, 2007 by pilot-cosmonaut Gerrman Titov.

The denomination documents can be found at this location.

ENSIFERUM has posted a new song, entitled "One More Magic Potion", to its MySpace page. The track comes off the group's third album, "Victory Songs", which is available in Finland. Check out the cover artwork for the CD at this location. The album was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki with producer Janne Joutsenniemi. A limited-edition version of the album will include an extra track, "Lady in Black", and a bonus DVD. An e-card for the CD can be found here.

ENSIFERUM last year entered the Music DVD chart in their home country at position No. 2 with their "10th Anniversary Live" (Spinefarm) effort. The disc was recorded at the band's 10th-anniversary celebration concert, which took place December 31, 2005 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.
